Knifes / Daggers from east europe

    Hey guys, I've got 2 knifes that my grandfather has left to me. Unfortunately he's long gone now and back in the times I had zero interest for these kind of stuff (because I was just a kid when he passed away). He was a soldier during WW2 on many fronts in the balkan peninsula, but if he got these from there or not I really don't know.

    If anyone knows what they are or what the symbols means I will be really grateful.

    First one looks Turkish/Ottoman. Second one, Japanese.

    The top piece looks like a cast letter opener,the bottom one appears to be modern with the applied color design on the blade.

    I agree, Japanese, a very pretty souvenir.
    The first one looks like a cast letter opener, as Holly said, but it has age. It looks cast in one piece. It could have been brought back from the Balkans.
