The gilding on that Derby is superb. Especially when you remember it’s all freehand too.

Nice early nineteenth rosewood tea caddy with original bowl in very very good condition too.

Be still my heart! I adore that Derby vase. Yellow is my favourite colour and that is just superb quality!

It really is beautiful, thanks! I think I will have to stalk the ReStore as the vase wasn't there a few days ago when I first picked up all of the Meissen items (but the price sticker had the same date) so I think the collection is coming out sporadically!

I have a picture of Baltimore Harbor from 1873 that I got today. I saw it in an antique store last Fall and opted not to buy it. Today it was still there and my wife got it for me. Now I need to figure out all of the buildings showing in it!

There are actually STEAMBOATS in it!!

I think the Derby is based on Imperial yellow glaze.

I'm quite enamored with this vintage 10" wood bowl I found. It's Myrtlewood, a tree native to a small region of the southern Oregon coast, and the source of souvenir bowls and plates, esp 50 or more years ago.

I've done a minor refinishing job and I just love the outcome.

And one more, if I may.

Probably the greatest price for a painting I've ever found. They musta thought it was a picture-- a testament to the artist.

My picture is basically the same as the one in the below link:

    https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/...er-harbor-history-EZ32GFDHFBGEJEGXEZHAQUO2JA/

They chopped the actual date off of the bottom of the photo. It did help me, however, to now know the shooting location, and, one of the buildings in the pic (hotel).

Wow-- thanks @Debora. That's gotta be her. I found it here in Portland, OR, but that's 2 m from Washington. I might reach out to those family members.

    Thanks for your research!

That would be kind of you. It's a charming painting -- she had genuine talent -- and shame for it to leave family.
