I thought I recognized Moses. Score!

@cxgirl - Ittala glass birdie! The little silverplate box may have those black spots forever. The plating may not even be there any more. Even so... whatever. I love Mr Fox. He looks like he should be palling around with Wile E. Coyote.

Love the biccies box, but surely they should have let the Mouse Patrol back into the building.

Agreed! I am sure they keep the micey population down at the bakery.

Cats were valued employees at bakeries. Grains and flours and sugar attract mice, so a mobile mousetrap is required.

Found this today at an estate sale on Cape Cod of all places, a Sowerby basketweave comport. I'm sure for Brits it's not a big find but on this side of the pond we don't come across Sowerby often. I was so pleased to find this :D

Here's the Hollywood Regency mirrored nightstand that I found at Goodwill for $25.
The mirrors had turned a little dark and murky, but I like it! You can see circular glue marks behind the mirror on the front apron, but of course I cannot correct that. At least the mirror there was still intact!

It was missing mirrors around the top edge.
    (Indicated by red arrow)
I found narrow mirror-like glass from the hardware store that were just the right size.

They are silvery with a mock antique coloration.
So I glued them in and I retouched some of the dark gold trim.

When I saw it in Goodwill with the missing mirrors, I figured I'd pass on this piece. But halfway to my car, I turned around and went back for it. It's amazing that none of the mirrors are cracked, especially the top.

I had never come across mirrored furniture before, so why not buy it and figure out a solution?
Finding the replacement glass in the right width was a miracle!

From the sheer number of similars signed "Burnett,, I suspect it's a decorative painting.

There’s certainly lots of them about. Tourist buys I would think.
The prices asked are all over the place. I had one years ago I bought for £1 and sold for £15, i think I’ll make a bit on it even with the plastic frame.

Thanks, I’ll take the gold down to the jewellers, he will perhaps resell the locket but I’ll sell all to him as scrap, I should get about £60 and beetle off to the supermarket:)

I like it when that happens! At least the political mess is good for something - higher scrap gold prices.
