"Rita May Jacques, 1912" fabulous hard to sell candlestick holder

That quoted auction price was long discarded for a $9.99 starting price which was discarded as well. Do some members here perform some sort of backend maintenance on eBay for a reduced fvf?

 

Unless you like it for yourself, I would donate it. When I first started selling on ebay in 2004, hobbyists porcelains were not popular then and they haven't gained in popularity since (unless the artist was extremely talented, which this one is not?)

My Great Aunt was a hobbyist porcelain painter and that's what we ended up doing with her stuff.

 

I agree that it's not really worth the time and effort to list, pack, and ship... considering what a sale price is likely to be.
I have a vintage hobbyist-painted 5pc berry set (a serving bowl and four little bowls) that I purchased 20 years ago at an antique store in the wilds of Mid-Michigan for $20... it's very prettily painted with strawberries. Priceless to me... but to someone else...?

 

Maybe I'll just smash it on my yacht to christen it if I ever get one.

 

Buying a yacht will be another sure way of loosing money..
