I picked up this religious enamel artwork in an antique wooden frame at a flea market for 50€. The frame itself looks quite old, and there is an artist’s signature at the bottom of the piece. Does anyone know more about this technique or its origin? Could it be from the 20th, 19th century, or even earlier?

Maybe any information about the person with a shovel?

    Agree. Far from being antique.

San Fiacre makes sense. The patron saint of gardeners so wide appeal. From the Alcázar, Seville.

Wow, cool. I'm a gardener too, very happy. It's just a pity that the work is vintage and not antique.

But I think the frame is older

It is typical of 1960s-70s Spanish souvenirs.;)

Yup. Those "antique" Spanish designs used to turn up here regularly. None are older than I am.

The frame is contemporary to the image. 1960s/1970s as above.

The style of the signature is your first clue that it's a vintage piece.

It's a very fun piece though. I like the color and the texture. It's great that it's a saint for an interest you have!

Its very cool and while not "old" its certainly decorative. I love a good enamel myself so Id happily hang it.
