Just picked these heavy brass candlesticks up today for $4 ea. They've got a nice machined 'Brutalist' vibe and'll look good on the mantel. All opinions/ides/comments most welcome. As allways- Candle1.jpg Candle2.jpg Candle3.jpg Thanks !

A lot of people turn their noses up at Pier One, but they used to sell some interesting things.

Debora-Logopedia is fabulous, an invaluable Site. Right next to Pier 1 is another one of my childhood & teenage favorites 'Cost +' or 'Cost Plus'. We got our Perrier Jouet there for our wedding (Champagne,2 floral flutes and an ashtray (!) in a beautiful gift box).
Cost Plus started in San Francisco and being one of the Bay Areas biggest Importers-all the 60's Hippies went there to get there beaded room dividers and Indian Bedspreads to pin on their walls. It's the first place I ever saw UK Callard & Bowser's Butterscotch or Altoids, amazing stuff for us Yanks in the early 60's !

Just MHO but anything Pier 1, Pottery Barn or even Bombay Imports are quite collectible. First thing to sell at our estate sales!

I still drool over the leather Pottery Barn leather couches on Craigslist.Bombay Co. was one of the bright spots in 1980's Malls (well, also Victoria's Secret-but enuf abt that !).
In 2021, Bombay Co. was sold to an undisclosed recipient.Today GHP Group, LLC,NY owns the Bombay name & sells at discount stores like Lidl, or on eBay.

We just sold 2 Pottery Barn Manhattan leather chairs with matching ottomans at our last estate sale. They were lovely and sooooo comfy!!!!

The loss of Pier One opened several voids for me. I used to love to purchase their candles, the colors were creative and I liked the scents on many of them, I also liked their reed diffusers and they were well priced. Pier One had the best Christmas stuff as well. Their serve ware was really nice, along with place mats and toss pillows. Now to buy that same stuff, you have to pay much more at Pottery Barn.

I had to throw out my Pier One candles, they were too strong.

I have a Pottery Barn Fortuny style lamp that I love.

My parents shopped at Cost Plus, and so did I! We loved that place.
