I have to 2 large Royal Dux statues that I have been researching. The question I can't find an answer to are the finishes. The smaller one has no color and is a little rough. Is this called "bisque" (one firing)? The bigger statue has a slight shine and smooth with some color (not full color like I see online). Is this one fired twice? The photo shows the appropriate markings below each statue. Ive been 3 weeks on this small statue that looks "unfinished". A site in Czech that sells high end antiques calls it "rare", but ?

The little one is bisque. The other looks to me to have a matte or semi-gloss glazing. Very nice.

In my experience it's not unique for Royal Dux to produce the same piece in two (or more) different finishes. I don't know of any source that could tell you how many pieces were produced in each finish or whether one finish is rarer than the other. I am a fan of Royal Dux and agree with kentworld that these are very nice.

Thank you. I went as far as I could on research and went ahead and listed them. I could be too high, so I'll let them run for a few weeks and see how it goes and adjust.
