I sent a message on eBay prior to it being sold. I’m not blaming for late reply or unwillingness to post internationally either, but I deserve a reply since it is mentioned that international buyers are welcomed.

Royal Mail insure higher than £250. And it’s dead easy, they even collect.

I admitted that brooch is the trigger for posting this, but I haven’t blame any sellers not doing international shipping, which I have emphasized several times. And it’s not just this time, it’s always been like this, I am simply expressing my feelings.

And I don’t see the reason for saying well things are not easier for us when somebody else is telling how bittered they’re? Without giving any reference to the original topic?

I just checked and you are correct. It has been over a year since i last sent internationally with RM. Nice to know its an option now.

    @Rasty Brown

since I have deleted ebay then guess I will reply here. Sorry if I overreacted as I really love that brooch and it’s frustrating not being able to buy it. Yes there’s no option for GSP. Fck ebay. This is not the first time it happened to me.

Again, I don’t blame you, I don’t blame any sellers. I am just sad and feel like telling.

Aren’t there “junk shops” in China you can go to?

I have a fantastic solution, come back to the UK :)
I think any antique collector leaving the UK would be lost without the vast amount of global antiques collected by our ancestors here in the UK. I've often said it, the UK has got to be one of, if not the best countries in the world to learn about and buy antiques. I know if I had to leave it would be one of the things I would miss most.
    I feel your pain.
I hope you know someone in the UK who can act as your agent, get it posted to them and they can post it to you or maybe they could wait until you have bought a few items and send them all in one go?

Nah not like those in uk. If any exists, it might really be junk;) the only place I can think of is antique fairs but my interest is still mainly on European stuff

Thank you Raver:( I agree, especially after several times I’ve complained how hard it is now for me to buy boxes… even harder than jewelry for an obvious reason… I really miss those days!

China is a heaven of antique hunting for many, but currently those antiques are not my thing:( also lot of time and money to learn not to fall for fake…

I have a close friend who is coming to uk soon and willing to ship stuff for me so I might be back for box shopping one day;)

don't know if you are aware or not Ratsy, but you can cut out nuisance bidders (nothing to do with this thread, or shammie who is a delight;) ) on ebay quite easily
in the selling settings you can tick a box to avoid anyone with a non paying bid in any amount of time

think mine is set to anyone with an unpaid within 12 months

last year when i was selling abroad, never had one problem

sometimes the nuisance bidders can blow your auctions right up, but as we all know, it never really ends well like that

i've got a nutcase on at me at the moment to buy a bakelite tasbih, about 6 mails everyday, his feedback mentions about 20 refunds he has had recently, but because of the non paying clause he can't bid or make an offer

I am truly grateful for your kind offer :) But I should be fine when my friend settles in uk! Before that, I might save more money for vintage coral:D

Thanks Charlie, i will review it again. I used to get so much hassle with overseas buyers i ruled out anything outside of GSP.

You can discuss buying and selling in private messages. I have done it several times with some nice results and very friendly interaction.:)
And if the item is already sold, you are also allowed to say so in a PM.

Thanks to those who are kind and have always been kind to me, and great advices from all!

As I said, I need to move on… so just took a picture of new arrivals today… there are just so many beautiful things to be found, be them new or old

some vintage coral branch jewelry, and a breathtaking glass vase made by a Japanese artist…

PS: if anyone takes great interest in coral like me, I just recently discovered that red branch is not momo coral, but aka coral which is even more precious ;)

So you are branching out to Japanese items.:) (Pun intended.:joyful:)
    Love, love, love coral!
It is indeed aka coral, with that intense red colour. Aka means oxblood in Japanese, it can be darker too. The most expensive coral in the world.:woot:

    Love the vase too.:)

I have always buying Japanese stuff in my life haha. Their modern artworks are so addictive to collect: pottery, glassware…

I was so dumb to only realize that aka coral in my possession yesterday:D now I’m aiming for authentic oxblood specimen…

btw although I know little about Japanese, but I remember aka means red (赤), so aka coral originally means red coral. But not all red coral are aka coral tho, and the oxblood aka coral, the darkest red is the most sought after. And not sure if you already know that, momo means peach which I think is really cute:cat:
