Featured Bayonets my dad brough back from WW2

    He was stationed in Europe - coins he brought back were from Germany, Belgium and France, but he could have acquired these anywhere. I know he was in England because he mentioned a family he stayed with in Fowey, Cornwall.

    Anyway, there are the bayonets. Each is out of the scabbard which is underneath its respective piece. Any marks are to the right.

    Any constructive comments appreciated.

    The top bayonet is Dutch, 1895 for the Mannlicher carbine. Relatively scarce these days.
    The second bayonets is French, 1892 for the Berthier rifle.
    And the last one is German, K.98 for the K.98 carbine. Possibly on the back of the scabbard there will be the makers name and date, as well as on the blade. These were used throughout WWII and were made in huge numbers. The frog of course was made by a different factory, but both ca. WWII
    A nice little selection you have there!
