    Hi everyone,
I picked up this little piece at my local Goodwill so no matter if it is nothing for a couple dollars.
It is about 3 1/4" tall and hand made. Thick reddish-brown clay with black design.

I don't recognize it as definitively any one Pueblo style. The curved shapes look a little like some Acoma designs, but the clay color is decidedly not. The dots are reminiscent of some Hopi designs, but not so many, and not organized as these are. And the piece seems to be glazed (?) which would not occur on a traditional Pueblo or Hopi piece.

So, I'm inclined to think it's a hobbyist piece and not part of any tradition.

I agree. It looks like it is trying to be Pueblo style - Santo Domingo or San Ildefonso perhaps - but the shape is not quite right. And as Pottery says, the shiny surface appears to be applied instead of burnished, which would not be correct.
