Hi Again!! This was another happy score of mine during this last stormy weekend. It's a signed Arsall cameo vase, 13 inches tall U.S., with an Iris pattern. I'm thinking it's ca. 1900. I love it and seek to know more about it. What can you tell me? It's bigger and taller than an average vase, with a sinuous, Art Nouveau pattern. How much would you expect to see as a price tag on something like this? What do you know about Arsall? I thank you in advance for your kindly-rendered opinions!
Wow! I love your vase. It's so tall that I would be putting something woody in it. Like Forsythia, only not yellow. I know cameo glass is terribly expensive around here so a vase like yours might command in the 100s or a couple thousand, but not sure exactly since I'm not familiar with the artist.
Vereinigten Lausitzer Glaswerke Saxony Germany is what I'm coming up with. 1920's. "Arsall" was how they signed cameo glass and a mash up of ARS ALLemande. ARS (Latin for art), ALLemande (French. German). Confirming your shape and how they finished their bottoms will help you to authenticate.
Awesome! Thanks for the research and unexpected results. I have to say, in light of this, that the large 14 “ size makes sense for the 1920s date, although the art nouveau design seems earlier.
