Norman Perry Lamp?

Discussion in 'Antique Discussion' started by Barbara Edwards, Apr 15, 2025.

  1. I recently bought this very large lamp at auction and wondered if any of you lovely people could throw any light (no pun intended!) on its origin?
A Google lens search brought up a few similar lamps by Norman Perry but I presume this lamp will be just “in the style of” rather than the real deal. It has some age to it. The wiring appears to be mid century.

No marks? Looks like a classic Blanc de Chine ginger jar lamp. And, given height of fittings, 1960s/1970s-ish to accommodate a tall shade. Let's see what others have to say.

  4. Thanks very much for your quick response. I just wasn’t able to find another example like it so I thought I’d ask the experts :)
I’m sure there are loads of them knocking around!

  5. Could you possibly tell me how a shade would be attached? Is there something missing?

The finial at the top will unscrew to facilitate mounting of the shade.
