Can anyone shed any light on this figurine? It is only painted on one side (not sure why) and has no makers marks etc. Thanks.

Thanks Debora, I hadn't seen this. So, if listing is correct, it is Victorian. Makes sense as it was in a box of German spill vases from late 19th Century I found when clearing a relative's house.

She is painted only on one side because she stood on a mantle or similar where the back wouldn't be seen. Faster, cheaper production!

As above. She's likely going to be turn-ish of the 20th century.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Not sure why, but when I clicked, the link led me to the "roll over" blank black screen. And it didn't come up when I did an item number search in either UK eBay or US eBay.

Not that I need to see it, though. It's already answered.

    Welcome to Antiquers, @Dave M !

So no great value then. I picked it out as it looks quite a nice piece.

Well, certain Staffordshire antique flat backs can garner a pretty price, but yours, I think, is Continental (German/Austrian/Bohemian) and therefore would have a "modest" value. She is sweet.

There's an issue with eBay links on here. If someone just posts a direct link it shows as a blank screen with a pixel in the middle.
