IMG_8321.jpeg IMG_8318.jpeg IMG_8322.jpeg IMG_8319.jpeg IMG_8324.jpeg IMG_8320.jpeg Hi all,not sure but maybe a piece of a Sari? The cloth itself looks like it could be vintage (or maybe it’s just well used? :)) Souvenir home decor item? Frame looks maybe 80’s or so? The cloth size is about 17cm x 14cm. Anyway I was just curious about it. My first thought was that it’s something that was framed for the tourist market. Thanks for any information.

I saw that but it looked like a inventory code or something to me (obviously not very bright) So what is the date please?

    Thanks Debora,I also
found that ‘older or more ‘vintage’ looking label from them. Anyway I appreciate you replying. Maybe someone would be able to provide a comment on the possible age of the piece of cloth.

The six-digit telephone number might be a clue.

Vishnu's footprints. The wheel is probably the wheel of Samsara, symbol of death and rebirth.
Very likely cut from an old, worn saree, with the decorative symbolic parts saved to be framed.
    Ditto.
That could be a renewed registration, happens here sometimes too.

I think and Know @Any Jewelry has hit the nail on the head.
Vishnu's foot prints and cut from a old saree. - the saree must be of significance to the person who framed it. You can see its a used worn down one. May be his/her moms - framed as a keepsake.

Again the telephone number is 6 digits so my guess is 89. We changed the numbers to 7 digits in 2000s.
