Hello, I am looking into my great-grandmother's china set for my mom. I don't know how many pieces were in the set, since the pieces were divided between the children/grandchildren when she passed. Unfortunately, the platter we have has a smudged backstamp so finding the maker has been a little hard.

My mom says she knows it was made in England, and the closest stamp I can find is English Ironstone Tableware Ltd., but I could be completely wrong. If anyone has close guesses or resources to look further into this, I would appreciate it!

Here are photos of the platter.

It does say Made in England, but that's as far as I can get. The pattern, if memory serves, has been in production somewhere since the 1790s, so getting similar pieces will be easy if you want them.

In my Blue Willow book by Gaston there were a couple of marks I was trying to see if variations would look like yours. I can't say but "Washington Pottery Ltd" seemed close and as it turns out, later became English Ironstone Tableware.

Here they are if you want to try.

I think it's a good bet that that is what OP's platter is. One can read "Old Willow" in the blurry mark.

Thank you! I wonder if the stamp is from earlier on or later, but this helps confirm that it's most likely Washington Pottery Ltd.
