Featured Military 1902 invoice

I have this it's in very good condition when you hold it to the light the paper has a water mark of a mill in Kent. I bought it because I thought it was cool. Are they common?

19th and 20th century military paperwork is pretty common. Every soldier got similar papers, sometimes multiple times over an enlistment or career. This is more military adjacent. Technically speaking it’s probably much more “rare” than average official military paperwork. I’m sure there are collectors that would like to have it. Particularly if they have equipment made by the firm in their collection. I can’t imagine it has an enormous value either way. Nice piece though, I love stuff like this. There are also letterhead collectors I think. This is a helluva piece of letterhead.

 

It may not be associated with the military. Thomas of St. James Street apparently also produced civilian wear like this pair of boots in the collection of the V&A. And the purchaser F.W. Mason isn't given a rank on the receipt.

This is somewhat earlier (1855) but the company was doing hunting, shooting, walking and dress boots in addition to military.

That's exactly what I paid for it

 

A bargain I think, and apart from military enthusiasts, it would I think appeal greatly to stamp collectors as well. A nice and interesting piece indeed.
