    Beautiful piece and great Find.

    Is it hallmarked ?

I want to know - who are these people who are selling these things. Do they not read /understand. or dont really care to do research ?
And where do I find them - hahaha

People are hitting "sell one like this" which copies all the same details, uploading horrendous blurry photos they didn't bother to retake, and then hitting the "AI description" button. Many take photos of their yard sale finds in their cars. Everyone is lazy lol.

Speaking for myself, haunting certain keywords and scrolling through new items several times a day. Especially things that are antique because they don't get marked, people don't test or know how to test right... And getting real familiar with what gold looks like, what other gems look like, or construction that indicates better metal content, or where hidden marks usually are.

Just had a stick pin lot come in where I figured one was definitely 10k gold based on the look, quality, similar pieces, and the barest hint of a "1" in a typical hidden mark spot in a terrible photo. I was right lol. Definitely not worth as much as that fabulous bangle but the whole lot was $20 so good enough for me this time. :D

You have to love dumb mistakes, especially when you're finding them and not making them.

Nice! Any rummage/jumble sale here would see "decanter" and mark it up by a factor of 10 unless they had someone "look it up" and price it at about retail.

Goodwill finds from yesterdays break between jobs lol. Italian made tole planter, 24k plated Hollywood regency mirror/brush, Renoir replica painting, and a rosewood jewelry chest. All in all $55 total IMG_20250428_204957_(1080_x_1080_pixel).jpg IMG_20250428_205013_(1080_x_1080_pixel).jpg IMG_20250428_204938_(1080_x_1080_pixel).jpg IMG_20250428_204923_(1080_x_1080_pixel).jpg

Nice! Around here the Ill Will may have a cheaply framed fake Renoir and used plastic takeout containers, but that's the good stuff.

    You're telling me
Wife is supposed to be starting up a booth at a more boujee antique store so hopefully we can get most of it moved there and the backroom of the house were moving to next month. Should have plenty of nice stuff but not sure people will pay what it worth there. Might have to sell the nice stuff off Etsy. Currently have at least 10 pieces of art/lamps/gilt mirrors I've thrifted or purchased from estate auctions in bfe worth anywhere from $500-1000+

Some of my best finds/wins yet.

A unknown maker French candelabra lamp for $7 at auction
A 1966 Fuggiti studio cherub lamp for $7 at the same auction
Then two weeks later I see it's smaller 1963 twin in a st Vincent depaw for $25 my luck has been astounding. IMG_20250430_112251_(1080_x_1080_pixel).jpg IMG_20250430_112310_(1080_x_1080_pixel).jpg

Until the day I die I will NEVER understand the love for those ghastly lamps from the 50s-60s ! Never !

Haha I get that. The craftsmanship and design can definitely be appreciated better in person, but I would never set them out in my own home, mainly because I'd rather just make a profit off those people who want there house/rooms themed and use my free furniture til I die

Good luck! The sooner she sets up, y'all move this stuff there, and you get a feel for what sells so you know what to acquire, the better! Personally, I would stop shopping or else become very picky (if I had the willpower :wacky:) until I knew the kinds of things that do well in your locale and the neighborhood of her booth. Stuff may be worth something in one place and worthless in another. Best to do your market research before over-committing. I hope y'all do well!

They aren't my style either, but if you live in a beige box like a lot of Milennials or rentals you can't even paint having some eccentric items has its appeal. Something useful like a lamp, even moreso. If they're being resold, you'll find out what goes locally. I watch dealers with a big mall in Ohio, and some of what they sell regularly is dead in the water here.
