Featured unknown japanese jug

    I wonder if someone wil know what this japanese jug is and how old it is. I found a site from which i could tell it is japanese but could not translate text with more info because of copywright.     Image search suggests its a Chinese Soy Jug

    Only one hole, the other is a handle or knob.
    I reckon its missing a bung or cork.

    or is it korean? this is the site with the same item. looks old like song dynastie ware??https://pigbay.co.kr/527 and if you google antique salt pig it comes with same shaped vessels

    You mean Song Dynasty- roughly a thousand years ago ? The bunghole or cork would be petrified by now-the contents must be tested.

    A vaguely similar jug I have. I believe it is a Chinese wine jug. It seems to be semi glazed Yixing. They likely have been used elsewhere in Asia pretty extensively I’d think. CF77CE85-A1D3-41D2-9F2C-8D9931103364.jpeg

    I think that's being 'Culturishly Insensitive', a person of any nationality with the correct equipage should be allowed to use one !
