Bought a Chinese porcelain charger today. Is this from the Qianlong era? 14" across.

Thanks. I actually didn't expect to buy this. I bought a Chinese jar locally on Marketplace. I asked if they had anything similar so she let me come in the house....MANY MANY Chinese things and me with not much money. Hoping to go back soon.

Fantastic looking charger, I love it! The insects and all the items on the table are great. I believe I saw the same opportunity pop up. It looks like an interesting collection. It was a bit further than I like to travel but if I knew that charger was there I may have. Could be a different situation than I’m thinking but your jar looks familiar. Nice score.

Beautiful charger, and I agree about the period.

I thought I saw an orange band around the rim, but that is probably optical illusion.

A brown dressed rim is common on Chinese porcelain of certain eras. The rim on this charger definitely doesn’t look dark brown. It almost looked like worn gilding but that’s less likely given the piece.

I really love the grasshopper! Reminds my of Kung Fu: Take the pebble from my hand, Grasshopper.

There does seem to be a faint orangey-brown on the rim edge, but hard to tell from the photo.
