IMG_9141.jpeg IMG_9136.jpeg IMG_9137.jpeg IMG_9135.jpeg IMG_9144.jpeg IMG_9139.jpeg Hi all, this was marked as ‘damaged’ because of the paint loss on the rim and priced accordingly (the equivalent of way less than $1) Hand painted. Doesn’t look that old to me but it’s pretty enough. Found several similar examples on line (but with different details and information) Mark looks like the Yongzheng period (but that can’t be right) It is 24cm across. So what do you all think of it? Age? 20th Century? Thanks for any comments

your right it is pretty for less than a dollar, darn pretty

i was gonna say the mark looked too perfect and was a stamp, but i'm not sure now looking close, does it look stamped in hand ?

Not sure unfortunately. How can I tell? Feels rough when I run my finger over it. But does look very neat? But also
will it have those tiny little drops areas if it was stamped? Those
little drops make me think it was signed? But again I don’t really know. Thanks for the response

    think maybe stenciled ;)

i would rule it out for being antique, but could be republic period, its got that well made look about it

no ones tried to make it look any older either which i like

Thanks Charlie,I appreciate the info. I also didn’t get an ‘antique feel’ from it. Stenciled makes sense to me. I agree with you it’s a nice enough thing for what it is.

I think the calligraphy is hand done. You can see pooling and scrape marks where the writing implement has made the ink go thinner and has also pooled in areas. Wouldn't take too much for a Chinese fellow to write Chinese letters on a plate.

    Thanks for the comment.
I hear what you saying. I was thinking stenciled made sense (as Charlie says) because it looks so neat.
