Featured What is the style of these vintage cloisonne' beads?

This strand is made of cloisonne' disk beads with holes drilled such that each bead lays on the edge of the one before. Terrible description, no? Is there a name for this style? And, any idea of age? The clasp appears to be gilt brass with a floral wire applied to the filigree top. Unfortunately, the "tongue" of the clasp is stuck inside as the thumb latch broke off.

Yes, it is, and it is a Chinese export necklace with cloisonné disc beads.
I don't know what the style is, except 20th century.
Overhere disc beads were popular from 1930-1960, give or take. But I think this necklace could be a bit later.

 

Thanks, ladies! I did realize it's Chinese, just forgot to say. So, disc is an acceptable term? I appreciate the input.

 

I’d throw cloisonné “coins” in for shits and gigs. Might attract extra eyes.
