Ooh yesss I hate golf courses. I used to live on one briefly as a kid and it cemented my dislike lol.

Idk what y'all commonly grow there. Our farm subsidies have really screwed up our production so that though we could grow more of our own food...we actually grow feeder corn and soybean. :meh: Not to mention the corporate IP hold on seeds which is rage inducing. Or the corporate block on right to repair farm equipment. So farmers that aren't corporations are massively struggling here. I imagine everywhere is tough to be a farmer and they're extremely important! They supplement their income with wind turbines, cell towers and billboards (here). Solar makes sense too but obviously makes it impossible to use a field. I wonder who has stock in those solar panels he's suggesting...:bookworm:

Cereals like wheat, barley, and oats, along with oilseed rape, sugar beet, potatoes, carrots, peas, beans and fruits.

We already have the two largest offshore windfarms in the world, just off my east coast as if that isn't enough.

I wish we had more diversified farming. Not that we lack other foods...just that they are very minority in comparison.

Wind farms are great but I hate when they mess up a view. :(

They've also been known to kill birds. As for solar, one place locally put solar panels over the car park. The panels keep the heat etc off of the cars and generate power. Win/Win and no arable land used. They should also put them on big flat roofs; around here they plowed under the cops and grew warehouses and offices. Might as well get some use out of them.

ooh, this news hurts my heart, I love Moorcroft and have collected it for years.

Hard for any business to compete and survive when you have such high energy costs.

In the USA, it is estimated 150,000 to 700,000 birds are killed annually from wind farms. Also, the blades are made from fiberglass and an epoxy resin. They can't be recycled!

2.4 billion birds are killed annually by cats in the USA.

I agree with windfarms offshore as part of our energy sources, but not blotting the landscape.
They should be used in conjunction with, coal, oil, gas, solar and nuclear.

Maybe in the US, not the rest of the world, where it is called Football.

Golf courses are far too big, they take up too much room just for a minority of blokes to play with little balls.

Glass windows kill birds: fact. I had one robin try to brain himself this Spring, and the window he picked is opposite a wall. Pileated woodpeckers have been known to vandalize car mirrors. Birds and glass don't mix well.

My home state park system is famous for their camping yurts. They're great!
