    Seems like the guy might have been important, on a local level at least, surrounded by so many others for a photo. Or maybe he just stands out because of the uniform. It looks like his uniform might say *mpsons. No markings at to maker or location. Dates around 1910-1915 most likely. The guy in uniform seems to have his one eye shut. Might be swollen.

    Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    @Kronos....Boater style mens straw hats were in style in LATE 1800's to early 1900's.....looks like there are 5 'boaters' in the picture and, it looks like your Baseball player with the uniform on is only squinting his left eye....there are also just 4 men in the standing row with some sort of tags on their shirts as well! Hope you don't mind, I tried cleaning it up a bit & de-saturating it....can help when looking for things/info in an image.........

    Looks like AZO postcards with 4 triangles pointed up in the stamp box like yours were made between 1904-1918

    To further narrow down the date:
    Divided Back Era (1907- ) Postcards with a divided back began March 1 1907. The address was to be written on the right side and the left side was for writing messages.

    source->

    So, 1907 would be the earliest

    That looks right. 1910s. And a very good example of why it's important to get as much information as possible -- including photographs of backs -- in an initial post. A courtesy to save everyone time and effort. (This is a general comment and not criticism of anyone in particular.)

    Sabre123 is correct on the era of the card. The image could be older as postcard manufactures re-printed cards sometimes decades after the original image was taken or used "stole' images from each other and from older photographs.

    That eBay URL doesn't work, and it's a common problem.

    Took a look around and found a few other Simpson College, Iowa team photos and their uniforms seem to say Simpson, without an S at the end. The letter near the end on my rppc does not look like an N at least. Maybe it's just a crease/fold? Hard to tell. The S is the center letter/in the button area on my photo, and their uniforms seem to all have the letter P in that area. Could just be a different year thing.

    Good find. Will have to look to see if there was any players that received extra attention in that era.
