Can someone help me identify this desk?

My wife and I recently bought this desk from marketplace. There is documentation in the desk suggesting it was a gift to employees of the Santa Fe railroad office for helping open the office in Galveston. It is reportedly made in the 1890’s. I am looking for any information on the manufacturer, where it might have been made, or anything like that. Thanks! IMG_4272.jpeg IMG_4271.jpeg IMG_4269.jpeg IMG_4270.jpeg

It's a proper old office desk for certain. A stationmaster could have used something like it.

It looks like oak. Without some kind of maker's mark or label here is likely no way to ID the manufacturer.

If you find something to ID the hardware that probably won't help with the furniture manufacturer as they would have bought stock hardware.

I haven’t found any sort of maker’s mark or anything else to identify it yet. Still looking.

I think later than 1890 unless the top is a replacement. Can you tell if the top is plywood from the back. Sure looks like it from the pics.

It’s appears to be veneer over oak.

Looks like a radial cut veneer, which is a later innovation. The lock escutcheon and key also look pretty new. Can we see more pics of constuction? Side panels, back, and drawer construction would be particularly helpful.
