I have a ceramic elevator in its original box from what I think must have been a presentation or gift in 1919 it was the first elevator by a company called Schindler & Co it’s sealed, I wondered if anyone could tell me more about it and what exactly is sealed within!?! 59E10011-1D91-4974-9BDA-F3C51407773A.jpeg C849F5CC-170F-4EB2-9C92-A9E48F7EDCC3.jpeg

I bet you could contact the HR department since they are still operating.

    Hi,
I am going to guess that it is either ink or booze.

Ooooooh ink ...... hoping it’s booze personally I really have no need for an elevator full of ink

Is there a reason you didn't post a photograph of the box as well?

Those used to still turn up from KLM (the Dutch airline) full of gin. I'd bet on schnapps.

Apologies. I did see but thought that was a label on the bottom of the bottle's bottom.

1912 obviously according the commission number top left. Schnaps makes sense.
in Switzerland the company is often called Schwindler (cheater) or Schinder (flayer) by its employees.
