On top of the mirror also found these a just a few feet from it lol. The girl lamp is stamped: FABRICATION FRANCAISE PARIS MADE IN FRANCE possibly 1880s-1920s from what I can find. And the teacup lamp seems to be a bit more modern maybe 70s-80s and made in China, just thought it was quirky and fun IMG_20250511_124316_(1080_x_1434_pixel).jpg IMG_20250511_124329_(1080_x_1434_pixel).jpg

My specialty as a kid was getting knots out of very fine chains. There is a sense of satisfaction when it's all straight again.

I think you're a bit early with the "girl" lamp. May we see the "Made in France" stamp please?

The FABRICATION FRANCAISE PARIS MADE IN FRANCE foundry mark dates are repeated over and over on the internet as 1880s-1920s. The most reliable source I can find gives the company as being active in the first quarter 20th century. I would think that's correct for your lamp.

Id think it's probably towards the later or the range. Since it's more/well decorated than the earlier ones (based on the detailed colors and gold accents). Was just giving the range the company was active since there's no actual date on it.

Worked two hours away today. Job site was right across from a salvation army so of course I had to check it out. $50 later and I drove home with these two beauties lol IMG_20250513_000812_(1080_x_1434_pixel).jpg IMG_20250513_000803_(1080_x_1434_pixel).jpg

It truly is s sickness, isn't it? There have been days when my wife has mapped out 10 thrift shops to hit.

I have a circuit. There are so many in this range that it's impossible to visit them all in one day. Tuesday is senior day at three of them.

Loving the brass one ! Like Marco I have a circuit . If I hit at one before I make it to the others I just go home. I long ago learned the thrift gods rarely strike twice in one day !

Y'all are extreme lol. We do a lunch and then go to 2 or 3 depending on how late it is and how we feel. :D We don't always go... Sometimes we go to a state park or an event.

I go because it just relaxes me. One has so many books it could be a library. I do buy clothing for family, friends, and myself. I just make it a fun day. The flea market is good exercise.

Oh uh. We have a library instead of a second bedroom. Although that issue existed before the thrifting. :p What didn't exist was my husband's overflowing corner mountain of "to be read" mostly from the thrift. It's higher than his dresser, stacked twice, and then several more levels on top of it. He's going to have to raise the artwork hanging on the wall there soon. :nailbiting: We even have nightstands with book shelves built in but he will not be contained! :hilarious: My book pile is much smaller...

But I currently have a real problem with nice and/or vintage purses, bowls, pottery, art glass...clothes (although I try to stay out of the racks unless I'm hunting a need). At least I sell things hah. So (IN THEORY) it might not all stay! :hilarious:

But you're right. A little bargain hunt for a cheap thrill is a nice way to spend a day!

Jewelry is my big problem, but it's small. I also collect vintage dolls from the 60s-70s, mostly Barbie and family. I also have a teapot collection, vintage purse (and some hats) collection, and I must donate some vintage linens. And scarves, mostly silk.

The local thrifts here aren't much threat, which doesn't stop me from looking. I was in three today. Picked up a Steelers hat in one as a donation, and gave it away at the next stop to a very happy camper. Found a pair of stud earrings with 14k posts at the next one, handed to me gratis. That paid for the hat.

Beautiful! I would have a jewelry problem except the stores here don't have anything but costume.
