I'm lucky to find any at all most weeks. I never see the good costume any more.

Went to goodwill with a purpose today. Mission was to find some curtain rods. The thrift gods blessed me and I picked this bad boy up. Hand carved & gilded Neirmann weeks acanthus curtain finials for $7! IMG_20250513_223851_(1080_x_1434_pixel).jpg IMG_20250513_224207_(1080_x_1434_pixel).jpg

Stopped in a thrift today after my chiropractor visit. A lady not fond of me proceeded to tell me how they had a huge donation of jewelry and sold most of it yesterday. I just smiled at her. I did pick this up for $3, I am posting more pictures on the jewelry board, not sure if it's
amber. In the second picture, the UV light is shining on the large stone, not totally dark in the room.

Here are the other necklaces I bought for $3 each today.
World Wide freshwater pearl strand, sterling clasp

    Amco 14k gold overlay

And this one is intriguing. The small green stones test as jade/jadeite (thought they were aventurine), looks like the dark green ones are Connamara marble, and the oval lighter-colored beads may be chalcedony...all register on the Presidium, the metal Celtic symbol is just base metal

I'd say "doubtful" on the last one. It's a Celtic knot, and the smallest green beads look like older dyed aventurine. The faceted ones may be garnets. The rest I can't see from here.

The faceted beads are glass....tested those small stones repeatedly, came up in the jade/jadeite section. It's probably a beader's mish mash.

It's definitely that. Someone used anything green that was handy.

Made another goodwill visit today looking for things to actually use in the home, but of course wound up leaving with more than what I came in for. Today's find was a japanese hanging scroll. Think it's more modern/possibly mass produced? and in rough shape, but I like it because it looks a little like my crazy kitty! And it was only $2 Lol IMG_20250514_231925_(1080_x_3086_pixel).jpg IMG_20250514_231946_(1080_x_1434_pixel).jpg

Once again, I have been remiss at photographing finds. I have an 800 silver candelabra I will post in the silver forum and something for the thrift store furniture thread. Besides that, here is a light fixture I picked up last week for $40.00 from a thrift store. 21" diameter so quite large and none of the glass is broken!

The scroll is indeed mass-produced. I far prefer the live kitty!

I decided out of laziness just to show all my finds at once since theres nothing of note but I am going to ask about the silver plate thingie on another thread . I just cant find one like it.
@ cut glass mini ashtrays,a drink stirrers set, silver plate something ,and a Phantom music box I bought strictly for sentimental reasons. Its the exact same one I bought my late partner for our 1st Christmas together from the San Francisco Music Box Co. I got a little misty when I saw it .Oh and a Korean mini vase.

The music box is beautiful. I have a special one from this company, a swan with four baby swans, a gift from my brother. My dad was a single parent who raised four children.

San Fransisco Music Box Co was a fabulous store. I couldnt believe it when I saw it and realized it was the exact same style of the one I bought way back in the late 80s. When I opened it and the music played I tells ya I had to fight back the tears. Oh the memories.

I love that you found that @johnnycb09, you will always have the memories in your heart & something to treasure along with them.

@Marko wow, 4 kids & by himself. I had a good friend who fought for his kids & made landmark history while doing so. We had 2 & there are 2 of us, my husband wonders how we did it….

Hard to read but it looks like a Kutani mark. You don't need that junk. Just send them to me and I'll dispose of them for you. Lol.
