I visited New Smithfield market today expecting to see the guy who does house clearances. He wasn't there! Cursing, I walked round the other stalls. There is usually quite a lack of bric a brac down there but I was pleasantly surprised. Found a set square, miniature imari vase, two kutani bottle vases, a nanking sleeve vase, a coalbrookdale iron bowl and a lladro and nao figurines plus a few other bits.

I realised the crookless shepherd is exactly the same as the one I have at home, which won't shift for ten quid. Starting to think lladro and nao are losing their appeal.

Ok so you won’t be using it to pure milk..:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious: but it is still a nice display and should be valued to a collector waaaaay more than the £1. ;) *thumbs up*

No can't see it holding anything much. The painted panels are still in one piece so it still has appeal. Just hope the bottom doesn't fall out of the market.

the nanking one's a beauty, haven't seen a figural nanking one before in blue and white, usually birds

Yes I am quite chuffed with it. It was just slung in a plastic bucket with a load of other stuff. Bit of a hairline on the rim but £5.

Send your Lladro here! The auction house I frequent usually has some and it brings $$$ prices!

Huh. I thought Lladro (and Nao) was rather a depressed market. I dunno. YMMV. The mini imari and kutani bottle vases catch my eye, but the Nanking sleeve vase (didn't know that was what the shape was called -- learned my something new today!) is great.

I've always called them cylinder vases until I tried finding them on eBay today. Sleeve apparently. I couldn't imagine wearing one.

I'm experiencing slow sales with lladro. Think the market has been saturated.

Where I live you can't give Nao away, and Lladro is close behind.

I'd donate it to GoodWill, which tells you what I think of it. I barely give them the time of day. :stinkyfeet::stinkyfeet::stinkyfeet::stinkyfeet:

Sadly I agree with the Nao and Lladro assessment. The first estate sale for my sister's estate just finished on Saturday. She had over 48 pieces of them, most with original boxes. Only 5 sold. This was in NYS near Albany. Sad, as she treasured them and they are lovely. I have no clue what we will do with them if they are left after the next sale in June.
