Featured Indian? 900 silver and glass bead Necklace

    Any thoughts on the age and origin of this necklace please?
    Each silver part is stamped 900 and it has one of those funny little nippy clasps.

    That's a sister clasp - the two halves "sister" together. They're very secure but a pain to work sometimes. They were used on a lot of bracelets in the 1950s, but disappeared afterward. That said, whoever made the necklace could have found a box of them in a back room and figured to save a few bucks buying new clasps.

    My guess is Indian, made for the Middle Eastern market.

    I have seen the sister clasp on pieces after the 1960s , even on costume pieces. Very secure!

    I sold a package of them on eBay 10 years ago or less. They turned up somewhere. I underpriced them deliberately and off they flew. They're still sought after but I don't think made now.
