It looks like the shelters you see in Javanese rice paddies.;) Only more upmarket and a lot smaller.:D

I vote we change all bus stops worldwide to this design. :hilarious::hilarious: It’s a natural 8 seater. :)

I second that-no shortage of ugly bus shelters in US cities ! We could substitute stainless for bronze and kevlar for Tiffany !
PS-Anyone care to donate another exclamation point ? !!!!!

There are 2 of these lamps. The second one resides in The Dana house in Springfield, IL. In the late 80s, our then Governor Jim Thompson, had the forsight to buy the house ($1Mil) and some of the contents back. The lamp was purchased for slightly over $700K at the time. Today, it is widely considered one of the most complete FLW houses.

At the time, many thought Thompson crazy. He had a keen interest in antiques and the Dana house was a passionate project for him. It has proven to be a great investment. Not only has it sharply appreciated in value, but it is one of the most popular tourists sites downstate. I have visited twice and highly recommend it.

No politicians in my old hometown with this kind of foresight-100% tear down build Mall blindness.
The only folks the City Council listened to was the Chamber of Commerce and the Developers who tithed to their secret and public projects.
Nothing remains standing but a few token scraps.
Kudos to big Jim Thompson !

Jim was an interesting guy. Was a polarizing figure in the state. People either loved or hated him. I got to meet him once and sold him a painting. It was a 1920s painting by a Chicago artist. It happened to be a scene of the Chicago river in a snowstorm that he said was nearly identical to the view outside his post-governorship office. I got $1K for it, bargained down from $1200. This was in the 90s and I was happy with the sale at the time. In retrospect, I should have held on to it. If I remember correctly, I think I had a fair amout into the painting so had a hard time justifying keeping it for myself.
