Weight is ~27 3/4 oz, capacity perhaps as much as 24 oz; it's 8 3/4" high to the lip, ~7" max diameter, ~1 5/8" ground pontil, ~3 5/8" OD base wear pattern. The ground stopper adds ~2 3/8" to the height. I've had it for ~60 years, acquired in San Diego in the early 1960's. I've never filled it or even thought to use it.
The pontil grind is incomplete, in that it leaves a long, narrow concave furrow ~1 1/8" by ~1/4" in its bottom; note that the gaps in the wear scratches are aligned with that furrow, which can be seen through the bottom from inside (pic 5).
I've done zero research on this piece until this post...what can y'all say about it? Thanks for lookin'!

Probably...November 22, '63 was just 3 months after I left the Air Force; I hadn't yet begun my acquisitive walk-about. But soon after...certainly by the end of '65; I found it in an antique shop on Adams Avenue, in an older SD neighborhood. There weren't 'garage' or 'yard' sales of any significance yet, but quite a few 'second hand' shops, mostly junk stores overseen by old folks in repurposed commercial spaces in seedy neighborhoods. Them were the daze!

So I could shop in those 1965 Thrifts and bring the treasure back to sell in 2025.
PS-There's a funny thing that occurs in S. King's book '11/22/63' novel abt the Kennedy Assassination. A chap who runs a diner in a small Maine town discovers a time portal to the late 50's in his storage room, buys ground round for 19 cents a pound, and sells astoundingly cheap burgers in modern America.

That will destroy the space/time continuum. Have you ever seen back to the future?
