    Hello!
Here is my found: large 22" W x 28"H (with legs, it can free stay on
two "triangle feet") Relief Carving of Sailing ship made of wood. Just found it Goodwill. :joyful: The Google showing information: "It may have been part of a Large piece of furniture, a decorative panel, of a fireback (?:pompous:)"
I think it would be possible if it would be old, like by Google age description: "Based on the style and ship type, it could be from 19th century or earlier".
But! I know that there are a lot talented people in Philippine or Costa Rica or even in China, who can do the same wooden carving items. :hilarious:
Please help to find the answer if it is old or just souvenir item. :D
Item made with "legs" and it is free stay. And yes, there is a crack in the middle. Looks like previous owner try to glued before. Also I can see that wood visible inside of crack is dark / old color. I will try take a picture and will send it too.
    Thanks!

More information: looks like there are only two metal screws at the top and other 4 place where panel is attaching to the "legs" there is visible only wood and no metal screws. 20250522_212725.jpg 20250522_212731.jpg 20250522_212759.jpg 20250523_125722.jpg

Man, I always like my fire screens to be made out of highly flammable materials. :nailbiting: I know they are for heat and we did embroidered ones to, but I wonder how often an ember settled!

Yes, I’ve always thought wooden candlesticks were risky too!

A mesh screen for the fire, a wooden or embroidered one against the heat.;)
My favourites are my 19th century barley twist candlesticks. Wood but with metal bobeches. I used regular tall candles in them for decades, nothing ever happened. Nowadays I use those kitschy led light candles on batteries.:bag: In my defense, I have become very clumsy, so it is safer.

Agree with a circa 1920 date. A fire screen is a distinct possibility. Does it really stand? Those feet do not look large enough for stability.

Yes. It is really stand and yes you are right, that there is not enough for stability. It is better put it on the floor and don't touch it. :hilarious:

What a nice piece to find, I would have snapped it up, too!

Technically not a galleon, kinda looks like a Viking ship but not really. Some sort of "fantasy" vessel, I suppose. :)
