    Hi,
Another attic find, this one, the coloration is not like a painting, so can anyone tell me what this is?

Also, the signature in the upper left hand corner - can you make it out? The best I can do: E. Gizoh?? Fire ????
    .. not very good..

He's a happy guy - Makes me want my dinner!

Would/could you post a photograph of the back please? And do you think the line under the artist's name reads "Firenze?"

    E. Giachi appears to have been a 19th century Italian genre painter. Here are two which appear to have used the same model as in the op's image -

This looks like another of his works, reproduced as a print by the Taber-Prand Art Company, in 1901 -

The Taber-Prang Art Company produced a great variety of art reprodcutions for popular consumption, using a variety of reproduction technologies. Here is a page from their 1923 catalog -

I suspect your picture may be one of their reproductions (or one by a similar company). If you are willing to take it out of the frame, you may find publication information printed along the bottom edge.

That is the same model for sure. Thanks to all of you for tracking this down!!!

I'm away from home but when I get back this weekend I'll take it out of the frame and post if there's publication info. It is in upside down after all - has to be done.

full-printoutofframesmall.JPG print-logo-small.jpeg I removed the print from the frame and there is a tiny little emblem or logo in the bottom right corner. It looks like "W & G" inside a triangle..
