    Hi dear Members,

May is (so far) a very productive month for some new finds and I wanted to share with you:
    1. Imperial Russian silver egg pendants - still can't believe that I found them. It was my dream to buy pre-revolution Russian egg pendant, but the prices are so high on them, that I was only dreaming... until I saw very low quality photos of these three pieces:cat: The only thing that was seen clearly is the 84 hallmark on one of them, I asked seller if another two pieces have any hallmarks. He said that they do have hallmarks too, but he can't read it. So I decided to gamble and buy all three pieces. When received and checked - another two pieces have 84 hallmark too:smuggrin: and small stones are actually a diamond and a ruby. And I am happiest girl in the world:joyful:
    2. Silver enamel Blackammor ring and brooch - beautiful pieces, brooch has three hallmarks, one of which is LP, another two I can't read. Brooch has coral, turquoise and garnet inlay, ring - a small garnet.
    3. Beautiful 18K gold blue & black enamel pendant - bought it for my mother. It is double sided and has small rose cut diamonds on one of the sides. I was told that it is Portuguese, but I'm not sure it is (?)

    Hope you enjoy my finds too:happy: IMG_4814 Medium.jpeg IMG_4812 Medium.jpeg IMG_4813 Medium.jpeg IMG_4806 Medium.jpeg IMG_4808 Medium.jpeg IMG_4809 Medium.jpeg IMG_4591 Medium.jpeg IMG_4592 Medium.jpeg IMG_4589 Medium.jpeg IMG_4590 Medium.jpeg

I can't read them either, but have no doubt both are antique.
Your mother will be very happy, that is a real beauty.
Does it have the holes on both sides, like you could string something through it? I am thinking it may have been a slide for a slide guard chain or watch chain.
I have no reason to think it is Portuguese.
They probably thought of the blue of Topazio enameled jewellery, but that is a different shade of blue, and a different style entirely.

Yes, holes are on both sides, I think you're right and it was a slide! I tried to wear it both on a chain, and on a bracelet and it looks so good, and large holes allows it wear with different options:happy:

Agree, doesn't look like Portuguese style. I want to think that it is Austro-Hungarian, I don't know why:smuggrin: maybe because of the pattern details, or colour combination...

Yes, you can wear a slide in different ways, the design makes it versatile.
A lot of different styles were made during the Habsburg period, but I think this one might just be French. Look for tiny marks either way.

Thirded on the slide. I'd think it was French too. The enamel and stones look correct. As for the eggs...:jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::p

Congratulations!! Blurry photos are so frustrating but it's also how I've picked up things verrrrry cheaply that I could never afford otherwise. I'm so happy for you!
