Can you explain what material it is made from and what its purpose or function might have been?

    What are it's measurements?

I wonder if it is terracotta.
What do you know about the excavation, and whereabouts in Thailand was it?

A bit more information could be helpful, as mirana and Any Jewelry have suggested. Also, of the photos you have posted, which best represent the color of the object - the reddish ones or the whiter ones?

That said, the striations, slight porosity visible on the edges, and what looks like a slightly conical shape might suggest the material is a type of sea shell -

Ditto-First thing popped in my mind was shell, like abalone, which may/may not grow in Thailand.
    PS-And far as I know,there's no conical Abalone.:joyful:

Ahh, but there could be...if you founded a new-age music group with the catchy name Conical Abalone.
I've taken the liberty of registering that as a Domain name, an' a Global Trademark as well.
We should talk seriously about a contract allowing your limited use of either of those immediately valuable assets in your new endeavor, Bosko...
    Whadya Think o' That? :joyful:

Love the name-sounds like a band I would've been in 60 years ago, breakin' strings and lookin' for Luuuv.

That was my thought too. Old bracelets are much smaller than modern ones, and I don't know any culture that made jewelry bound to get banged from a material that couldn't take at least a little banging.

Possible, but you still have to wonder. I associate grooved terra cotta more with Chia Pets than jewelry. :p:p:p
