I found some other Lenox vases online with similar patterns but not the same gold paint.

This one stated to be ROSENTHAL(?) has the same gilding with another artist signature. The style of the rose painting is characteristic of the Art Nouveau era. The signature "N.B. Hartman 1910" probably was a relatively unknown but skilled artist. The gold trim around the top rim I think adds to its appeal.

Cac (Ceramics art Company) is the decorator. Hartman must have worked there.

The maker of the vase, Ceramic Art Company, was a ceramic art pottery company focused on the decoration. They would have made a plain vase. The decoration is what's striking. This link has some info on the company.

The vase is just lovely and very appealing, but I wish the artist had been more subtle in applying his signature.

Lenox also sold blank porcelain for hobbyists.

Signatures like that are mostly seen on hobbyist items, but interesting to learn about CAC; I hadn't heard of it before. Talented whether hobbyist or professional.

I posted the vase on Reddit and someone replied: “Decorated by widow Mary B. Hartman of Mechantville, Camden, New Jersey, born there in 1868. She's in the 1910 census as a china painting teacher, living with her widowed mother Annie Ireton in Mary's house on East Park Avenue, which she owned but on which she had a mortgage.”

Can’t find any examples of her china online but she is actually in the 1910 census. Amazing what some people can find online
