Recently found a PW that is about 3 1/4" diameter. It has an unpolished bottom and something that has writing on it inside. The writing says Mr. & Mrs. Frich Fostoria, O for Ohio and the date 1905. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Good question….@“crs”, is the writing smooth to the touch, or does it feel raised a bit???? TO ME, it looks slightly raised & ‘bubbly’…..

It is inside the paperweight. Can't feel it. Woke up to a comment from a PW group calling it a commemorative plaque PW but that was all the person knew.

Did you do a dive into the Fostoria glass company and see if those names have any relationship?

Not yet. I think I'm in a Fostoria group on FB. If not, I'll join one. I'll check to see if they have any info. I was thinking more on the lines of an Expo but the Expo in 1905 was in Oregon I believe

The more I dig into info on this PW, the more I think it is a Degenhart (est.1947) Commemorative plaque PW with the name & date on mine being an anniversary date. I was informed that MAGWV has many of these PWs [IMG]

Now I'm really confused. Had one person in the PW group saying he didn't think it was Degenhart. He believes the date on the name plate is when it was made. 1905 which would rule out Degenhart.
