Not even sure what this is !
There is a clip on the top but I cannot imagine how it would be used

Again any assistance would be amazing

I will say I have a pretty good knowledge on coins if anyone ever needs help.
    Cheers

It is a Saint Esprit pendant from Normandy, France. Amazing! Do you have any connection with Normandy?
Could you post a side view of the clip?

Ooh now that might be something! Agreed St Esprit pendant from Normandy, and worth quite a bit if an antique. Very pretty.

Allan you might try Coin Talk (advertised in our top banner occasionally) to meet like-minded collectors if you haven't already. :D

Allan, are there any silver marks anywhere, maybe under the clip? They are probably tiny, could look like small dents.

That is a bit too small.
I'll see if I can find mine for comparison, it is somewhere on the forums.

    The side clips as requested

I shall do some research on St Esprit from Normandy.

To answer your question the other question- no no connection

I purchased a box with lots of bits in , primarily for the coins, and these were in, along with some other items I will post up tomorrow probably.
I know nothing and this seemed to be a good place to seek advice

Thanks. It is a normal top part of pendants from Flanders and Normandy. Such a top part could carry different pendants that would hang from the hook. In this case the pendant is the Saint Esprit, but it could also carry heart-shaped pendants or crosses.

I cannot see any mint mark, the highlighted bit on the top is so small I cannot make anything out . I suppose with out that we cant get a date , it does look nice and just now my wife saw it and is staking an interest!

Also...score! Somebody zigged when they should have zagged, throwing this in a coin lot. I"m with your wife; make off with this one because who knows when another will show up.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

@Allan Ashford, Where it was too tiny, I was able to enlarge a bit, not that the marks look familiar to ME! I also contrasted in the now darkened areas to the right in the same posted image of yours, also cannot discern other than the smaller half circle "looks like it might say 'Caa' or 'Coa'.....and the larger one to the right looks
"to ME"....like it could be an animal....profile of a dog or maybe turtle???? That's a very nice looking piece though!!!

Your wife may take more of an interest in your coin collecting if you keep bringing treats home for her in the boxes! :D
