Anyone else find old cigar boxes to be great for story other small antiques/collectibles? Got these expressly for that purpose.

Used to, when I still had some. Old wooden cigar boxes are even better; they often have latches. The modern ones work just fine too.

My mother kept her art supplies in them. I was concerned about them having residue and the paper itself being acidic regardless, so I wouldn't keep anything of worth in them.

I store my spare keris hilt rings in a wooden cigar box, and use another one for a bunch of Cambodian lime boxes.
The cigar boxes came to me as packaging material.

My mother used them for pencils, buttons and a lot of other smalls. I still have the box of pencils - they are all advertising. I was listing them separately years ago but I'm thinking of just selling it as a collection, box and all.

I don't collect a lot of small things so really haven't the need. Otherwise, would be great. Have seen many a workshop filled with cigar boxes of small items and labeled accordingly. I do buy the wooden ones regularly for a buck or two and sell in the $8-$12.00 range. Even those without much age sell readily.

I'm more inclined to nab the clear hardware/fishing/craft compentalized boxes, but old wooden cigar boxes are good for finished projects and larger pieces of jewelry.

I have several wooded cigar boxes I use to store rolls of coins in my collection. They work great and store neatly and easily.

I've shown this before, but I sure don't mind showing it again. One of the few things I regret selling just because it was that cool.

Nice box MOS. I especially like the 'cease and desist' note--- back when counterfeiting tobacco sales was profitable.

Now there's no point; tobacco sales are in the tank, fortunately. There are still smokers, but if they smoke cigars they want the good ones.

I've got 2-3 old (50's-60's) that Dad kept his coins in, but if I were to have any other Tobacciana in the manse-it's gonna be cute ! That's the sweetest 'Man Cave' humidor I think I've ever seen.

The box is just the right size, and I thought it appropriate, Indonesian name and Indonesian content, keris hilt rings.;)
