I am hoping someone can help me identify what this item is used for and to decipher the marks. It stands about 7 inches high and the center jug has a stopper that has what appears to be tongs that goes down in the jug. The lid might have been attached to the ring on the handle at some point. The two metal cups are bolted to the base. Seems ceremonial which led me to think it could be Judaica silver1.jpg silver2.jpg silver3.jpg silver4.jpg silver5.jpg

Not a Judaica piece I'm familiar with, and the designs on the bottom aren't strictly Jewish. Not for Communion either, I don't think.

There are 3 nuts on the bottom. Is the center "teapot" thing also bolted to the tray? All 3 nuts are different (hexagonal, square, and knurled), which seems to indicate it has been taken apart at various times, and at least 2 of the original nuts have been lost.

Do the little pins beside each bolt seem to have any function?

May we have a straight on view of the decoration on the trays?

The pins protrude from the bottom of the cups to stabilize them and keep them from turning. I will have to get a photo better photo later when I get in from work.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to everyone. Time just gets away so quickly anymore.
Here is a close up of one of the pins. Each removable piece has a number stamped on the bottom. This cup is #3
Anyone else have any ideas. The one I looked at, linked above had a small piece of cotton in the little metal prong that protrudes from the top. Makes me think it could be some sort of holder for fuel for lighting something like cigars or candles...just throwing ideas out!

It's not singing at me in Hebrew. I've no idea where it came from.

It looks like something is secured in the tongs then dipped into the water or whatever liquid. Could be religious or maybe just some way of diffusing something into the liquid. I am intrigued though despite my cluelessness.

I think the plants depicted on the tray might give it away. Identify them and you've cracked it. Do you think the circles in the middle of the leaves represent bunches of berries or flowers?
