Featured Recent Pick-Ups at Postcard Show

Hello folks,

I recently attended the Heart of Ohio Postcard Club Show in Columbus, Ohio. There were about 20 vendors there and probably 150 customers in the couple of hours I was there. I purchased about 50 cards from 5 vendors after looking through probably 10-20 thousand cards. I focus on real photo postcards (RPPCs) which are some of the higher value cards out there as I would rather have a few great cards than many lesser cards and as postcards add up over time, if you are collecting many of the lesser cards then you better have plenty of storage space.

I thought it was a good crowd, and the dealers did appear to be making some sales.

I love those old random place postcards. They're a lot more interesting than the ones of landmarks that haven't changed.

 

Very cool! I've only ever bought one... an illustrated card of one of my neighborhood parks. The photographic ones look really appealing. At least for a collection the storage is minimal per quantity! I think I'd do a gallery wall of frames and switch them out for the season, theme or new-ness.
