Picked up 3 pieces of this for a song. Have seen the pattern before and I can find a few identical pieces on ebay but no information. No luck on finding the logo either. Any ideas? Something in the back of my brain said this might be a desireable pattern but am coming up blank.

That logo is likely custom - I went down the Theodore Haviland and Tommy Hilfiger rabbit hole - no luck!

Just realized that the Ebay seller with matching pieces is very near to here. Could be something local.

Very classy Deco design-looks like it was used at a classier joint.

Yup. If it was a railroad I'd recognize it. Hotels and fine restaurants would be a safe bet.

The "H" does lead one to think a hotel. And interesting that it might be local. Wonderful Art Deco design. Just three simple elements -- rectangle, square and circle -- to create.

Thanks for the input. I think a hotel likely or perhaps a restaurant with the word house in it. For the heck of it tried Town House but no luck there. The pattern may look familiar to me as it is somewhat similar to the Roycroft Inn restaurant ware. I could have seen it somewhere locally as well. I only have $1.50 total in two round plates like this and a larger oval plate, so minimal investment. Interestingly, the oval plate is more cream in color than the plates.

I have not had great luck selling restaurant ware but I like it and pick it up interesting pieces when I can. Some local restaurant ware does sell here. Steak and Shake is originally from here so their old china flies out the door. They originally used an unbranded checkerboard pattern that is somewhat hard to find. Later on, they had their own logo branded wares.

We use restaurant ware for our everyday dishes. I have a few patterns I particularly like. Besides the checkerboard pattern, there are some grey and red banded oval plates that are my favorites. They are just the right size and have a particularly deep rim. I only have 3 of them and have never seen any more. A quick search right now does not bring up any. Fortunately, they are sturdy and we have never broken them. Besides these, I have a pretty good set of diamond pattern dishes like this. These oval plates are a bit smaller than the grey and red banded ones and I also have another even smaller oval and 2 sizes of round plates in this pattern. Also have bowls in this pattern. Disclosure: Picture is not mine. Swiped from ebay

There was and still is a Tremont House in Chicago. I saw the plates on ebay and I want them, but likely won't buy them, due to "too much stuff already".

The first time I was ever served a restaurant meal on one of those oval restaurant dinner plates was at Chez Helene's in New Orleans. Best food ever! I wanted a side order of their famous red beans and rice w sausage, but the portions were so large. So I begged them to just put it in a little bowl or on a small saucer, but sure enough, this oval plate full is placed on the table. Really good vacation memories with my BFFs. What a great place.
