Trying to determine a maker, has a shield or beehive mark on the bottom. Could it be Royal Vienna? Is it a fake mark? Thanks for any help.

99% of the times you see a beehive mark it is fake/imitation/repro. That said, from the form and decoration, it could be late 19th c, and made in Germany or Austria area. But some of the curlicue gilded decoration is giving me a "hmmm..." and it could be a 20th c repro. Sorry to be equivocal, but it's hard to tell from photos alone. Others may have better info.

The genuine marks tend to be under the glaze. Anything painted on top is likely to be fake. Not sure where we stand if there is no glaze at all though! Also I've read that the shield mark is in addition to other makers marks. On its own, likely to be fake.
