I only got to see the side of the basket before I bought it. I wasn’t sure it wasn’t African or something. Seeing the bottom I’m more inclined to think NA. I’m nearly as horrible at ID’ing basket making techniques as I’ve always been though. I actually forgot to get a photo of the bottom before dark but the top down photo might be adequate for those more knowledgeable. Looks like it may have been used a bit. Nice size at 11” across and 8” high. 49D668E3-4756-43AE-A4DB-CAC1971593E2.jpeg 45339661-E47C-4E3F-97DB-64062B1CEA41.jpeg BE5ADD58-F7E4-4036-8481-367F8AFBC5F9.jpeg

Ditto. Although it does not appear to have the start I would expect, other features look like Zulu. The stitching appears to be dyed which is pretty standard in Zulu baskets, but less common on NA coiled basketry, where it is more typical to use different materials to provide color. It is a well done basket.

A photo of the center from the outside might be helpful.

It does not look NA to me either. Beyond that, I'm no help.

It’s probably best just to keep my mouth shut about things like this.. But it really also reminds me of African baskets..
