Featured Limoges butterfly and flower plate

    I picked up this sweet plate today. No marks on the back to give me any clues. Ironically I also bought a copy of ceramic marks by J P Cushion in the same shop. Google is giving me several results by different manufacturers. Chanut, Mace and V Etienne. All of which connected to Paris. Maybe I could just call it Parisian. Please ignore the green mark near the foot rim. I think it is antique phlegm. Ø=23cm

    Pretty plate. The butterflies look like transfers to me, or a different painting style.

    You have a good eye or two. I think the flowers are hand painted too. Maybe transfer bases with printed accents on top. Not sure if these show it any clearer...

    Yeah, the surface of the butterflies is different to the surface of the flower painting. Probably done at the same time, though.
