I inherited a lovely china cabinet or vitrine last week and know nothing about it. It has a mark and here is a photo. I would just like some basic information on its age, etc.

    Thanks,

    Mike

20s-40s. Limbert is well known for their mission furniture from the previous decade..... Not so much for their later production such as this. That said, this appears to be a notch above similar revival mahogany furniture made during this time period. The Van Raalte name was used starting in the mid-20s and the company ceased business in 1944.

    Here is some company history:

Thanks. I bought the oil lamps in the late 70s at the Thieves' Market in Rome which, back then, was held only on Sundays. I bought one for $18 and the other for $20. Romans!

And thanks for the info on Limbert. It's a lovely piece I'll keep researching it.

You have good taste, AustinMike. That's one of the finer revival-type pieces I've seen - not that I can see a lot, since the photo's dark - and the Roman lamps look great on top.

The piece looks just as nice as the originals that it's "reviving." Remarkable!
