    Greetings everyone!
I am posting this interesting cup that I bought in an antique shop a couple years ago. I believe it is a Vodka Cup made of pewter. A proper antique from at the latest, June 1913. I would like to know if anyone knows about these, or if they know other examples. I couldn’t find many similar items to this. Are they rare or valuable at all? Its weight is about 122g, and can hold 145ml of water. Thanks everyone for your help![IMG]

A Google Images search will bring up examples of other souvenir cups from Russia. And you can run the text through Google Translate.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Hi, Travis -- Welcome to Antiquers. I see your post is over a week old. Debora gave some good advice about looking up the words in Google Translate. Some other online translator would also work, I'm sure. I hope you've found some things by now.

In case you didn't know, the Russian alphabet went through a revision in about 1917/1918. A few characters and letters were taken out. Your cup has some of those characters. Google translate may recognize them... I'm not sure. But it should be close enough for you to figure it out. From what I can see, this souvenir cup depicts some of the main sights/buildings around St. Petersburg.

The cup shows views from St. Petersburg, the capital of Imperial Russia, written in the old pre-revolutionary alphabet (as Figtree rightly mentioned).
The views are of: St. Isaac's Cathedral; Bourse or Commodities Exchange; Kazan Church, Neva Boulevard, An Inn (Гостиный двор) and the Parliament/Assembly (Дума), Peter and Paul Fortress.
    No idea about authenticity.
