    Hi all

anyone know more about this? Tried google
Search and it says a terracotta candelabra but apart from that nothing.
I picked it up about 20 years ago from an antique dealer in Devon,uk
Been sat in my garage for years and would like to sell it on but no idea if it’s worth anything.
    Thank you

    Hi Paulr, welcome!

I am wondering a bit if your candle holder is actually made of clay. Since you have it in hand, do you think it might be a type of stone instead?

It reminds me of a some that I think are from African stone but I'm not at all sure.

I am also thinking African soapstone. Would not expect the wood base with such so it may have been added.

The Chairish example is for sale out of Germany. I think African soapstone too. And not terribly old.

Agree. But think seller being a bit fanciful as to date.

That’s great thanks all very much . It’s quite a heavy item so could be a stone, I just put it though Google and it suggested terracotta.

If it's heavy, it would be stone. Doesn't look like terra cotta to me. I agree that the wood base is added. Welcome to Antiquers!
