quite a glorious brown, like rich chocolate :bucktooth: and the colours all work very well together:bag:

thinking its gotta be a painted blank

not sure on origin, or if a fantasy type, or of an actual view

    no marks anywhere

    any thoughts or info appreciated

Scottish loch scene I think. I've come across a few pieces with similar decor and I believe it to be original to the piece.

I was thinking purple heather in the hills but I guess you can get alpine heather too? I've seen a few of these that are Scottish loch scenes but haven't come across any alpine ones yet. Could well be down to my geographical location though.

yeah i lucked out big time, supposedly the paint job varied by the age of the chimp and also the fineness of the spanner of course ;):playful:

It is a lovely piece Charlie.
On etsy you can buy a painting done by a rat. I came across this today when searching for something else.

It's good to see creativity in all life forms-but doesn't this smell like a sweat shop enterprise ? Cheezus- how are they getting away with this ? Someone's spiking the paint with Roquefort !

Factory done painting I think -- that is to say a china painter hired by the factory. Lots of similar type scenes and painting style pretty much throughout 19th c in Britain.
