Chinese water colour on fabric

    It's odd though. The fabric mount is water stained but it looks like it was damaged before it was cut. Rough bleeders!

    I think it was probably factory art, and in-painted by someone new at the factory.

    Minor water damage aside, I don't see anything wrong with it. It is not a top piece, but it is representive of a lot of real Chinese art.
    Both the perspective and the placing of the basket are traditional. And there is definitely shading in the painting.

    Bear in mind, this will be bought by someone who likes Chinese art, not by someone expecting a Dutch Golden Age flower painting by Bosschaert. The buyer will be used to Chinese techniques and traditional perspectives, and probably think them charming.

    There probably won't be. Chinese siggies are usually well in view.
    The fabric is likely to be silk.
